What is backflow? Backflow is the undesirable reversal of flow of water or other substances such as solids, liquids, or gas through a cross connection into the public water system or consumers potable water system.
What is a cross connection? A cross connection is an actual or potential connection between a public water system and any other source or system through which it is possible to introduce into the water system any contaminating or polluting agent.
